Class Etiquette

I almost forgot to go over some basic class etiquette information, so that our class runs as smoothly as possible and you learn what you need to learn effectively.

I thank you in advance for respecting and abiding by the guidelines below.

Attendance Policy

Because we are only meeting for 8 sessions (and your Saturdays will be at home lab work days), you are only allowed one absence. After that, your final grade will be lowered one letter score for absence #2. Absence #3, according to National's policies, means that you have missed too many courses and can no longer pass. Please make sure to be in class. Missing a presentation date is a big no-no--you cannot make it up.

We will begin promptly at 5. That said, if there is a work-related reason you cannot be here right at 5, please talk to me. Your grade will still likely be somewhat affected if that is the case, as you may miss quizzes and other things at the beginning of class, which I cannot do makeups for, but it will be helpful for me to know your situation. I'd really prefer you were here on time. We leave early as it is, so let's get going right away and go through our lesson together.

Cell Phones, etc.

We are all adults here. However, I do ask that while we are in class (including writing or reading silently) that you don't check your cell phone, text, or leave the room to answer your phone. You can take calls during break.

I also ask that you do not talk while I am talking, or while one of your classmates is talking.
